Colorado
State Parks Reservation Policy
Reservation policy - Some State Parks do not have campsites available
for reservations during the off season, but allow camping on a first-come,
first-served basis. Some campgrounds are closed completely during
the off season. Only cabins, yurts and a limited number of campsites
are reserved during winter.
Reservation Window - Reservations can be made a maximum of six
months in advance of arrival date, depending on the parks open date.
If six months in advance falls on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday,
you may call on the next business day to make your reservation.
If campsites are available, a reservation can be made a minimum
of three days prior to the arrival date.
Cabin/yurt Reservations – Cabin and yurt reservations are accepted
year round following the six month maximum and three day minimum
windows.
Payment Policy – All camping and reservation fees must be paid
in FULL in advance of occupancy or use of park facilities. Payment
Methods – Payments can be made by Visa, Master Card, Discover, check,
money order, traveler's check or cash. Internet reservation payments
can be made with credit card only.
Confirmation – Once your reservation is completed, you will be
given a reservation number. This number will be used to reference
your reservation when calling to change or cancel your reservation
through the Central Reservation Office.
Discounts – If you are an Aspen Leaf Pass holder, you are eligible
for camping discounts at individual campsites, Sun. - Thurs. excluding
holidays. The discount does not apply to fees for cabins or yurts.
If making an Internet reservation, an Aspen Leaf Pass holder will
have to call the Central Reservation Office during call center hours
to request an adjustment of fees to apply the discount to the reservation.
The fee adjustment will be credited back to the credit card used
for original purchase.
Change Policy – There will be a $6 NON-REFUNDABLE transaction
fee for any changes made to a reservation. All changes must be made
through the Central Reservation Office up to the arrival date, and
must be made within the same park. Campers may not make reservation
changes after the reservation has started.
Holiday Cancellation/Transfer Fee – When a reservation includes
a holiday weekend, there will be no refunds given for any transfers
or changes made to the original reservation arrival date.
Cancellations – All cancellations must be made through the Central
Reservation Office. To cancel, please call 1-800-678-2267 outside
the Denver area, or 303-470-1144 during business hours. If a reservation
is cancelled 14 days or more prior to the arrival date, the camping
fee will be refunded less the $8 NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee
and a $6 cancellation fee. If a reservation is cancelled 13 days
or less prior to the arrival date, the $8 reservation and the first
night's camping fee are NON-REFUNDABLE. Due to the Central Reservation
Office being closed on weekends and holidays, when 13 days in advance
of arrival date falls on a weekend or holiday, the reservation must
be cancelled the previous business day to avoid forfeiting the first
night's camping fee. If canceling a reservation after your date
of arrival or departing early from the park, then the park must
process a request for refund. The refund will be based upon the
number of nights left on the reservation less the cancellation fee
and first night's camping fee. A refund check will be processed
and will take 4-6 weeks for delivery.
Refunds – When a reservation is cancelled through the Central
Reservation Office, a credit is applied to the credit card used
for the original purchase. If the reservation was paid by check,
money order, traveler's check or cash, a refund check will be processed
and will take about 4-6 weeks to receive. If the refund request
is submitted to and processed by a park area, then only a check
refund will be processed which takes about 4-6 weeks. The appropriate
cancellation and transfer/change fees will be deducted from your
refund.
Unreserved campsites – Campsites that are not reserved are offered
on a first come/first serve basis payable at the park.
Handicap Sites - HA sites are handicap accessible sites that
could have a paved or gravel walkway, elevated fire rings and table
extensions and are relatively close to the restrooms. These sites
can be reserved by anyone. The HD handicap designated sites have
the same amenities, but can ONLY BE RESERVED BY CUSTOMERS WHO POSSESS
A VALID HANDICAP LICENSE PLATE OR PLACARD. This information will
be confirmed by a Park Ranger.
Emergency Closures – In the event of an emergency park closure,
Colorado State Parks will attempt to notify customers and make other
camping arrangements, or process a refund.
Disclaimer – Colorado State Parks reserves the right, when necessary,
to modify any reservation policies.
